bo & drake thomason : baseball

Hi again! I hope you're all doing well. I'm doing quite well myself. I'm going to spend the weekend catching up on my work. I can't believe the weekend is actually wide open, with the exception of a couple of meetings.

Check out this slide show . I put together for Bo and Drake Thomason and their parents. They both play baseball for Eastside High School... my old stomping grounds! I won't say how many years ago I graduated. :) I guess even saying that is kinda telling my age huh? Oh well. So anyway, I was contacted week before last about coming out and getting a few shots of the brothers during a game. The younger brother Drake was to pitch for the Eastside team. I immediately thought that this was probably more of a job of Tim. Besides that, I was sick the day of the game (even though I did go out for about 20 minutes before I just had to get back home and lay down). Long story short... Tim did a fantastic job. A couple of days later I got another request to come out and shoot. This time Bo, the older brother was pitching. Both Tim and I shot the second game and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I found that wedding and sports photography do have some things in common. Just like shooting a wedding, you must always be ready to catch the moment. It was fun! :) Both Bo and Drake did a fantastic job for the Eagles. It was also fun to be back at Eastside after ( ) years! :)

We've been booked for months to shoot their first annual Hall Of Fame awards banquet coming up in May. That should be a lot of fun as well.

So I guess that's it for now. Be sure to check back in a few days. I'm going to be announcing a contest that I'm really excited about. The deadline for entries will be Friday of next week! Until next time... be blessed and be thankful for all you have.

Shyrie and James

Meet Shyrie and James. What a great match! These two are gearing up for their June wedding! They traveled from Columbia this past weekend and it was the perfect time to do their engagement session. I always enjoy getting to know our couples a little better and the engagement session is the perfect opportunity for such a thing. Shyrie was a great sport. She was willing to lay in the grass in her pretty white skirt! Yea! James was just as cooperative. These are just a few of my favorite images from the day. I've only just begun the editing process so I'm sure there are lot's more. I'll put together a slide show in the next few days. Shyrie and James' wedding coordinator is the fabulous Krystal Donald of All Occasion Celebrations. Thanks to Krystal for the referral!

I hope that you had a wonderful Easter Sunday. I enjoyed spending time with my family and just relaxing for a minute. :)

I'll post again soon. Until then.... be blessed. ~Stephenie

My Friend Sherry

Hi again! I hope all is well in your world. I have been a little under the weather but I'm feeling a bit better. I just really hate being sick! :(
So this past weekend I visited my long lost friend Sherry down in Columbia, SC. Sherry and I were college friends who lost touch after graduation. We even shared an apartment back in the day. We did try to stay in touch initially, but after a few years and new addresses and phone numbers, we drifted apart. Well anyways, after years of no contact and sporadic web searches to find her... I finally did!! It was about two years ago when I found a listing for her on classmates.com. Well I wasn't sure if it was her but I sent an email just in case. :) Of course she now had a different last name because she'd gotten married. Yes... I missed her wedding. :( Well anyway, she and her husband are having a precious baby next month so there was no way I was going to miss her baby shower. My sister Gina and I met up down in Columbia to attend the wonderful event. We had such a great time and couldn't wait to bite down into one the delicious cupcakes pictured below! They were quite yummy. Although I must admit... I had more than one. :) A great time was had by all! Thanks to Sherry for inviting us to celebrate with you. I hope we didn't "wear out our welcome" as we tried to wait out the storm. hahaha (Sherry will know why that's funny) :)
Well that's it for now. I'll post again soon. Until next time... be blessed!

My Nory Boy!

Hi again! As promised here's a photo from Nory's shoot at the park the other day. He wasn't particularly interested in posing for me. He was completely distracted by all of nature. He wanted to eat grass, run and play. I was only able to get a decent shot of him
after he was loaded in car for our trip back home!

In other news, Anastastia's bridal portraits were shot a couple of weeks ago. She's such a beautiful bride! I can't wait to post a few of her bridals here. I don't want to take a chance on Pedro catching a glimpse. Their wedding is in a few weeks so I won't have to wait much longer. :) I'm looking forward to the big day, after which I'm gonna take a much needed break. Besides the fact that I will be taking a few days to celebrate my birthday... I've been going full steam ahead since before the New Year. It's time for a little break.

I will be checking my email from time to time, so feel free to drop me a line. If I can't get back to you, Gina... my office assistant will certainly answer your questions and schedule appointments. No worries for now... I won't be taking a break until the week of April 6th.

Until next time.... be blessed and be thankful! ~Stephenie

Cool Boys

Hello again! So by now if you've read this blog in the past, you know that I think my boys are the coolest around! :) Aren't they adorable in their sunglasses? Well, actually they're 3D movie glasses from when I saw Beowulf many months ago. I couldn't help but see what they looked like in them. :) They were good sports.
I had another little mini session with Nory at the park the other day. I'll post a few images from that session
soon. He's got a birthday coming up! I'm thinking of giving him a little doggie party. I'm going to pull a few recipes from his doggie cookbook (pictured below) and bake up something yummy. For those of you that are dog lovers, I know you know where I'm coming from. For those of you who are not dog lovers....NO....I'm not totally crazy. I just love my little guy.
If you'd like some cool recipes check out Three Dog Bakery. Their recipes use all natural ingredients. Nory LOVES the "Poochie Pleasin' Pretzels."
Well, that's all for now. Until next time..... Be Blessed! ~Stephenie

Miss "Reed"

This little beauty is one of my favorite people to work with. Her name is Reed and she's 7 years old. She just a natural talent and such a bright light as you can see here. Reed just happens to be the daughter of one of my really good friends who's also super talented. :)
I've been photographing her since she was about 3 years old. I'll post some of her earlier photos next time. She's definitely someone to look out for! She's a model with Millie Lewis modeling agency and recently shot a national print ad for Rooms to Go! I'm super excited to see it when it comes out! You may have also seen her featured in the Greenville Children's Museum commercial airing on WYFF. Reed is a super sweet little girl and I'm so proud of her. Thanks to her mom Tamy for letting me capture her beauty and personality through my lens. :)
So that's it for this post. Until next time - be blessed.
